We are actively seeking experienced Automotive Transmission / Drivability Technicians for current and future dealership opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair transmission, drivability, electrical, engine performance, shifting, vibration, hesitation, misfire, and related vehicle concerns.

• Perform advanced vehicle diagnostics using scan tools, diagnostic equipment, manufacturer service information, and repair procedures.

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, remove, replace, or service automatic transmissions, manual transmissions, transfer cases, differentials, driveline components, and related systems.

• Diagnose drivability concerns including rough idle, no-start, stalling, hesitation, poor acceleration, fuel system issues, ignition concerns, sensor faults, and check engine lights.

• Perform warranty, customer-pay, internal, recall, and maintenance repairs according to dealership and manufacturer standards.

• Accurately document diagnostic findings, test results, repair recommendations, and completed work.

• Communicate parts needs, repair timelines, and technical findings with Service Advisors, Parts Department, Shop Foreman, and Service Management.

• Maintain high repair quality and help reduce comebacks.

• Follow dealership, manufacturer, warranty, and safety procedures.

• Stay current with manufacturer training, technical service bulletins, recalls, diagnostic procedures, and evolving vehicle technology.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive technician experience required.

• Dealership technician experience strongly preferred.

• Transmission, drivability, electrical, or advanced diagnostic experience preferred.

• Strong understanding of vehicle systems, scan tool diagnostics, service information, and manufacturer repair procedures.

• Ability to diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, drivability, and transmission-related concerns.

• Ability to accurately document diagnostic steps and completed repairs.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to repair quality.

• Ability to work efficiently in a flat-rate, hourly, or production-based environment.

• Good communication skills with advisors, parts staff, foremen, and management.

• Valid driver’s license required.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• ASE certifications, manufacturer certifications, or transmission/drivability training preferred.

Preferred Experience

Experience with domestic, import, luxury, EV, hybrid, performance, transmission, and diagnostic repair is welcomed.
